The record was verified by Guinness World Records adjudicator Emily Standfield on site in Montreal.

"The TimeSands Hourglass is not just a record-breaker, but a stunning work of art that captures the spirit of a nation," said Standfield during the ceremony.

The measurement process included:

  • Multiple height measurements using laser rangefinders
  • Verification of structural integrity and functionality
  • Documentation of the hourglass's continuous operation
  • Review of engineering schematics and construction records
